Brushed fur. Union Square, Manhattan, NYC. Spotted by Amber Garvey

This coat reminds me of brush strokes in an impressionist painting. Yesterday I saw the fabulous Impressionism, Fashion and Modernity exhibit at the MET, featuring men’s & women’s clothing seen in paintings by Renoir, Monet, Manet, Baudelaire, and more. These painters were capturing the look of the period in much the same way we do with street photography. A glimpse of a moment, just with a different medium. If you are NYC before May 27th, I highly recommend it!

Back to Louisville tomorrow!

Captain of the street. 6th St. at Trinity, Austin, Texas. Spotted by Amber Garvey

We’re on the road again this week, worshiping the sun while in Austin, Texas for SXSW 2013. This festival is a mecca for street style – honestly, its like shooting fish in a barrel! With cameras….

We’ll be posting from the road this week, hopefully giving everyone a taste of warmer weather to come.
